Calling All Bookworms!
The port has exciting news! In an effort to reach out to the community during its centennial year, the Port of Vancouver USA has provided copies of its centennial book, All Ahead Full, written by local author Ted Van Arsdol to libraries within the port district, and the books are now available for check out.
The Three Creeks Community Library was so excited, in fact, that it hosted a challenge to create something port related in the form of Legos! Children gathered at the library to build ships, trucks, cranes and other masterpieces related to port activities. In addition, the port recently set up a centennial display at Cascade Park Community Library. Although it doesn’t include the creative use of Legos, we hope library visitors find the overview of the port’s first hundred years informative and interesting.
Be sure to go to port district libraries to check out a copy of All Ahead Full, and if you’re interested in owning your very own copy of the port’s centennial book, visit our website at http://www.portvanusa.com/centennial/buy-a-book for more information.
