Share Your Thoughts, and a Cup of Coffee With Us
You pick the topic, but some of our favorites include trade, job creation, industry, freight, environmental stewardship and economic development. So far, all three commissioners have met with visitors within the port district, and there are more coffee events to come.
Hoping for mornings filled with lively conversations, Port of Vancouver Commissioners Nancy Baker, Jerry Oliver and Brian Wolfe are hosting nine “Commissioner Coffees” this summer, and the public is encouraged to attend. Commissioners are taking turns visiting local coffee shops within the port district in an effort to meet with constituents, answer questions, and share ideas related to port projects and plans.
During the visits, complementary cups of coffee are offered along with a request to take an informal survey aimed at collecting input from the community on port activities. The Commissioner Coffees will culminate in the fall when the three port commissioners will participate in a televised community forum, answering the questions and relaying the information gathered during the coffee visits.
The upcoming commission coffee visit dates and locations are as follows:
Wednesday, July 11, with Nancy Baker, at Tully’s Coffee, 7710 N.E. Fifth Ave., Suite 122, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
