Ryan Hart

Chief External Affairs Officer

Ryan Hart was appointed Chief External Affairs Officer in June 2015. His responsibilities include cultivating relationships with people and organizations at every level of government and overseeing communications, community outreach, government affairs and marketing.

Ryan has more than two decades of experience in government relations and organizational development. He graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. He went on to obtain his master’s degree in Organizational Development and Training from Oregon State University. Prior to joining the port, Ryan served as district director for the United States House of Representatives(WA-03).

Community service is very important to Ryan. He currently serves on the boards of Pacific Northwest Waterways Association, Visit Vancouver USA, Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools, Innovative Services Northwest and is a member of the Rotary Club of Three Creeks.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife Diane and his three children, fly fishing, hiking, playing the mandolin and cheering on his favorite teams, the Portland Trail Blazers and Washington State Cougars.
