photo-summit_webGreetings from the mighty Mount St. Helens! Port staff Matt Graves, Phillip Martello, Mark Newell, Mark Savage, Stephen Melville and friends spent a windy Tuesday, September 17 hiking the 4,500 feet to the summit to raise money for the Hough Foundation, an organization that works to support the Hough neighborhood, which is adjacent to the Port of Vancouver.

The Foundation, which has been in place since 1992, partners with philanthropic, business, civic, academic, and faith entities to provide Hough Elementary students, their families and the Hough community the best opportunities for scholastic, physical, and social growth.

The port has been supporting the Hough Foundation since 2010 through the annual “Hike for Hough” organized and led by port environmental manager, Matt Graves, in which all port employees can contribute monetary funds for their efforts. The team raised $500 this year, all of which went to the Hough Foundation.
