Port joins Greater Portland Inc
Partnerships with regional economic development organizations are key to the port’s ability to provide benefit to the community. Longstanding relationships with the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia River Economic Development Council are just two examples. The most recent is the port’s membership in Greater Portland Inc (GPI).
Aiming to nurture and recruit businesses that bolster the local economy and promote long-term job growth, GPI helps companies expand and locate throughout the Portland-Vancouver area. In a GPI news release dated February 18, 2014, port CEO Todd Coleman states that “collaboration is fundamental to how the port operates, and we see this as a wonderful opportunity to grow partnerships and strengthen the economic development ties that keep our region’s economy strong.”
The port looks forward to participating in GPI and all the benefits that come from working together for the common good.
