Alex Strogen

Chief Commercial Officer

Alex Strogen was appointed Chief Commercial Officer in 2017. His responsibilities include planning and implementing short- and long-range maritime marketing strategies, objectives and programs to promote domestic and international trade; planning and directing the marine cargo development program; and developing and maintaining relationships to promote utilization of the port.

Alex has more than 15 years of maritime and sales experience, including executive education programs at Kings Point Federal Maritime Academy in New York. He graduated from Texas A&M University in Galveston with a B.S. in Maritime Administration.

Alex moved to Vancouver in 2018 from Greenville, South Carolina, where as Senior Global Category Leader for GE Global Operations, he was responsible for managing the global sourcing and execution of ocean transport, port operations and marine surveyor requirements. Alex’s global experience also includes leadership roles in operations, international trade, commercial development and business development.
