Kent Cash

Chief Operations Officer

Kent Cash is a native of Vancouver, Washington.  He graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  His career began with the engineering consulting firm of Black & Veatch located in Kansas City, Missouri.  After seven years with Black & Veatch, he took a position with the Cowlitz County Department of Public Works located in Kelso, Washington.

Kent held a number of positions with Cowlitz County including County Engineer and Director of Public Works.  While with Cowlitz County, Kent served many years on the Board of the National Association of County Engineers and also served a number of years with the Washington State Association of County Engineers, where he was awarded the “County Engineer of the Year” in 2006 and served as President in 2007.

Kent joined the Port of Vancouver in July 2014 after over 21 years with Cowlitz County.  He serves as the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for a number of port departments including Environmental Services, Facilities Maintenance, Terminal Operations, Engineering, Project Delivery (construction) Security, Rail Operations, and Safety.  He is currently a Board Member of the Maritime Fire and Safety Association.

Kent currently lives with his wife in Ridgefield, Washington and has two adult sons – the oldest a software engineer in Santa Monica, California and the younger a senior in college in Irvine, California.
