Mike Schiller

Director of Business Development

As Director of Business Development for the Port of Vancouver USA, Mike supervises staff supporting the sales, real estate, marketing and customer service departments. He is also responsible for managing tenant customer service programs, implementing annual industrial and commercial marketing plans and directing the port’s industrial and commercial recruitment activities. He joined the port in January 2002.

Prior to joining the port, Mike served as a transportation officer in the United States Army for 20 years. He managed and operated Department of Defense maritime facilities in Germany, Korea and the United States. He also taught as an associate professor at the US Army’s Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Mike earned his Master in Business Administration with a focus on logistics and transportation from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Before joining the U.S. Army, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.

Mike currently serves as a board member or committee chairman for several marine related organizations in the Pacific Northwest. At a national level, Mike also participates in several American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) committees.
