Port director speaks at Great Northern Corridor Coalition workshop
Curtis Shuck, Director of Economic Development and Facilities at the Port of Vancouver USA was a featured speaker at the Great Northern Corridor Coalition (GNCC) workshop held May 12 and 13 at the Heathman Lodge. The conference drew 50+ attendees from five of the eight corridor states (Washington, Oregon, Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota); as well as corridor ports, state transportation departments, short-line railroads, departments of agriculture, and other municipal planning and business organizations. Attendees participated in a scenario planning workshop that looked at the world approximately 25 years from now and discussed what the communities and businesses along the Great Northern Corridor could do today to prepare for and capture future jobs and growth.
The GNCC is a multi-state freight corridor alliance serving eight states and five Canadian provinces. Coalition members are working together to create robust trade alliances and business opportunities across the corridor to enhance global competitiveness and trade prosperity.
