Trail_02082013_3419The Parcel 1A Trail project is completed and ready to be walked and biked on. The 2,700 foot trail runs along the south side Lower River Road from Gateway Avenue to the eastern boundary of the Parcel 1A wetland.

Port crews began construction in fall 2012 and the path was completed on February 26. The 12-foot wide path is separated from the road by approximately 16 feet of native plantings. The construction of this trail allows Vancouver residents to safely bike or walk along this portion of port property and view wildlife and the wetland mitigation bank to the north and port operations to the south.

In addition, another path may be built through a partnership with the Port of Vancouver and the City of Vancouver that would run from the port’s administration building to the intersection of Fourth Plain and Mill Plain Boulevards in Vancouver in an effort to create more recreational space for the community.
