bulk-facilityThe West Vancouver Freight Access Project 7, which will relocate utilities from the project area of the new Bulk Facility Railcar Dumper Pit for port tenant Kinder-Morgan, went before the Commission on September 11, 2012 for approval.

The Public Works Project was opened for bid on Thursday, August 16, and Rotschy, Inc. was the low bidder. A notice of award has been issued and a preconstruction meeting is soon to follow. A notice to proceed is expected no later than early October, which would allow construction activates to begin.

There are a total of three phases for the relocation project, the first being the removal of utilities from the project area. The second phase includes building the substructure for the new Kinder-Morgan bulk facility [also known as WVFA #4], and the final phase includes building the facility, constructing rail, installing housing a conveyors system and demolition of the existing facility. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2014.
