VANCOUVER, Wash. – Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution LLC has renewed its lease with the Port of Vancouver USA for at least another 12 years. The long-time port tenant will continue leasing 20 acres and 77,600 square feet of industrial space, and maintain employment for 53 full-time workers.

The lease was unanimously approved by the port’s Board of Commissioners during the board’s Dec. 8 regularly scheduled meeting.

“I’ve been involved with working with the port since the late (1980s), and it’s just been very rewarding,” said Jerry Gaukroger, Boise Cascade branch manager. “With the economic ups and downs that we’ve had over the years…you’ve been able to accommodate our growth, and on behalf of Boise Cascade, I’d like to say, ‘Thank you very much.’”

The lease has an initial term of 12 years with three five-year options. Boise Cascade’s rent will be $40,463.25 per month with annual increases, providing approximately $5.8 million in revenue to the port over the initial lease term.

The lease also includes agreements on right-of-way settlement and cost-sharing for improvements to Boise Cascade’s leasehold.

Boise Cascade is headquartered in Boise, Idaho, and has 32 locations along the West Coast. The company manufactures engineered wood products, plywood, lumber, and particleboard, and distributes a broad line of building materials across the nation.
