Northwest Packing: Bringing local produce to the global market
Since 1973, Northwest Packing Company has been moving local products through our community. Throughout the year, trucks deliver high quality produce from Northwest fields and orchards to their Port of Vancouver facility where they are examined, processed and distributed around the world.
The company is currently at the height of their production season, which begins in August and boosts the employee base from 175 full-time staff to 500. Through mid-November, teams are working 24 hours, 7 days a week to process pears at the peak of their freshness and ensure the highest quality product possible.
Northwest Packing works directly with farms in Oregon and Washington to source a range of products from pears, plums and cherries to raspberries, blueberries and cranberries. Produce is processed into canned goods, juices or concentrates used in fruit bars and sweeteners, and then shipped primarily to destinations in North America, Asia and Australia.
The Port of Vancouver is proud to have Northwest Packing Company as a partner at our port. With over 45 years in Vancouver, we appreciate their strong commitment to our community and look forward to working with them as they continue to innovate and grow here in our city and throughout the Northwest.
