VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners will meet to discuss the port’s 2013 budget at a half-day workshop this coming Monday, October 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Gateway Conference Room at the port’s administrative office, located at 3103 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver. The budget workshop is open to the public, although no official public comment will be taken during the workshop.

The three commissioners will then consider adoption of the port’s preliminary budget for 2013 at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 23, the day following the workshop. Open session will begin at 9:30 a.m., in the Commission Room, also at the port’s administrative office. Adoption of the draft budget document by Commissioners Nancy Baker, Jerry Oliver and Brian Wolfe is the first step in the port’s public process of establishing the organization’s budget for 2013.

Input from the public regarding the port’s 2013 budget is welcome at the upcoming commission meeting on Tuesday and at the commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, November 13. The port’s two-page 2013 preliminary budget is currently available on the port’s website at http://www.portvanusa.com/sites/default/files/tinymce/files/2013%20preliminary%20budget.pdf

The commission is expected to vote on the final 2013 budget at the November 13 meeting, during which a formal public hearing on the subject will be held.

Both regular meetings will be televised live on CVTV (Cable Channel 21) beginning at 9:30 a.m. They also will be streaming live on www.cvtv.org and will be archived later in the day on the same website for future viewing.
