Draft plan includes updated, community-facing vision statement

VANCOUVER, Wash. — After 11 months of development, stakeholder and community feedback and public meetings, the Port of Vancouver USA is seeking public comment on the final draft of its strategic plan.

Consultant Maul Foster & Alongi presented the draft strategic plan to the port’s Board of Commissioners during a public workshop today. During the workshop, commissioners also read through vision statement examples and crafted a new, draft statement that reflects the port’s vision for its community as the port pursues its mission.

The vision statement is included in the draft strategic plan, which is open for public comment Aug. 14 through Sept. 6.

The port expects to present the final strategic plan for commission consideration and potential adoption at the Sept. 11 Board of Commissioners meeting.
