VANCOUVER, Wash.—The Port of Vancouver USA welcomed the M/V K. Neptune commanded by Capt. Valdehueza of the Philippines, on her maiden voyage to the United States on April 18, 2012.

Valdehueza and his 22-member Philippian crew were welcomed to Vancouver by Jason Lee, port captain for SK Shipping, Nino Benedetti, superintendent for Jones Stevedoring, as well as Phil Brotherton, regional general manager and Rocky Richards on behalf of Transmarine Navigation Corp., the agent for the vessel.

Port representatives included Commissioner Brian Wolfe, Executive Director Larry Paulson, Matt Graves, Steve Graves, Katie Odem, Ron Gill, and Ben Shoop.

The M/V K. Neptune is classified as a geared bulk carrier and discharged steel for port customer SK Shipping Co., Ltd.

The M/V K. Neptune was built in China and launched November 23, 2011. The vessel is 557 feet in length and has a deadweight capacity of 29,000 metric tons. The vessel is owned by NA Shipping SA and operated by SK Shipping Co., Ltd. Transmarine Navigation Corporation is the agent for the vessel.

The M/V K. Neptune sailed from Los Angeles, Ca. before docking at the Port of Vancouver USA, and will sail to Vancouver, B.C. Canada after departing the United States.
