VANCOUVER, Wash.–Port of Vancouver USA Commissioners Nancy Baker, Jerry Oliver and Brian Wolfe will host nine “Commissioner Coffees” this summer, and the public is encouraged to attend. First up is Jerry Oliver, who will be visiting Di Tazza Gourmet Coffee and Cafe, located at 2011 SE 192nd Ave., Vancouver, this Thursday, June 7, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. Community members can stop by and share a cup of coffee and their thoughts anytime during the two-hour event.

Throughout the summer, commissioners will take turns visiting local coffee shops within the port district in an effort to meet with constituents, answer questions, and share ideas related to port projects and plans. Suggested topics of conversation include trade, job creation, industry, freight, environmental stewardship and economic development.

During the visits, complementary coffee will be offered along with a request to take an informal survey aimed at collecting input on current and future port activities. The Commissioner Coffees will culminate in the fall when the three port commissioners will participate in a televised community forum, answering the questions and relaying the information gathered during the informal visits.
