View Terminal 1 preferred alternative at two public events Sept. 11
The first chance to see the design is a public workshop after the regularly scheduled Sept. 11 Board of Commissioners meeting. The commission meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. at the port’s administrative offices, 3103 Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver; the workshop will immediately follow.
Later that same day, the port is hosting an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Warehouse ’23 Event Space, 100 Columbia Street, Vancouver. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Attendees will see design renderings, and port staff and consultants Graham Baba and Greenworks will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.
Staff and consultants presented initial conceptual designs to the port’s Board of Commissioners, Terminal 1 advisory committee and the public during a workshop, meeting and public open house in May. Since then, the project team has been fine-tuning designs to develop a preferred-alternative conceptual design.
If the Board of Commissioners approves the design on Sept. 11, staff and consultants can begin developing cost estimates and plans for project phasing and funding.
